Goals
Short Term Goals (Six Months)
- Work with Extra Foods to implement waste reduction in their store.
- Prepare for the 2011 Vanderhoof trade show.
- Plan the 2011 Earth Day Community Clean Up, taking place April 16th.
- Maintain and complete this website.
- Prepare the next funding proposal for RDBN, due July 2011.
- Purchase pop can recycling receptacles for around Vanderhoof.
- Increase membership of NWRI.
- Create a CBSM campaign.
- Work with local schools to create and expand on existing education campaigns.
Long Term Objectives (1 - 2 years)
- Establish a business cardboard collection service.
- Lobby the Regional District of Bulkley Nechako (RDBN) to take over.
- Create a litter-less event policy.
- Have the District of Vanderhoof restrict garbage pickup volumes.
- Have the RDBN implement tipping fees.
- Continue to increase recycled material collected.
- Make recycling an election issue, specifically waste reduction.
- "Reduce waste in the District of Vanderhoof by 5% from 2008"
These goals get updated throughout the year at our general meetings.
